When we looked at the ingredients in generic chicken salt, we were shocked. Most brands are vegetarian. Full of preservatives, fillers and flavour enhancers . Then there's the big question nobody was asking: why doesn't chicken salt have chicken in it?

We went looking for a natural chicken salt Australia could actually be proud of. We couldn't find it.

So we made our own.

Who's behind Red Robs?

Rob and Tegan are a Gold Coast couple on a mission to make seasoning real again. Rob is the founder of Burgster, one of the Gold Coast's most loved burger restaurants who has been a chef for years. Tegan is a former retail and ecommerce founder of Soul Quartz, with a passion for health and wellbeing. Together, they went down a rabbit hole to create chicken salt made from real ingredients and Red Rob's Original was born.

All product is handmade in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, Australia. This is made with real chicken and not fit for vegans or vegetarians.

Keep in the tin provided and out of the fridge. This is designed to be a topper and due to natural ingredients, it is not designed to stick to your chips like the ones with artificial enhancers. As this is a clean chicken salt, please be aware it has lower salt content so it can be used in larger quantities (see photos for macros).

Tastes far better than the classic chicken salt, and the ingredients are unmatched! I also love the texture - it’s so good. I highly recommend having this as a staple in your pantry, it pretty much makes anything taste good and is perfect for those lazy cooking days/nights.

It's wonderful to have a natural alternative to some of the fake chicken salts. I just think it needs a smidge more salt, and to be ground a bit finer.

Our product is designed as a topper, made with real chicken skins and no additives or preservatives, so it tastes quite different to the generic chicken salts which are made with flavour enhancers and have no chicken in them at all.

Best chicken salt ever

Red Robs is the perfect finsher for every meal! So far I have tried iton egg, fish, cheese and even biryani! The staple every one needs in their kitchen - the packaging is also beautiful! Great addition to my spice rack :)
